You gotta have Faith in Johnny Mack’s tribute to George Michael
Singer, songwriter and performer Johnny Mack is bringing his uncanny stage show ‘Faith’ to the stage for The Ultimate Tribute & Music Festival this summer, channeling the style and energy of one of music history’s biggest stars, George Michael. We find out more ahead of his main-stage show on June 24
As an award-winning singer-songwriter, it’s safe to say that Johnny Mack knows a thing or two about putting on a show. Indeed, the George Michael impersonator, who takes to the Ultimate Tribute & Music Festival’s main stage is no stranger to the spotlight, having worked as a chat show host, panto star and recording jazz artist in his time.
Now, he’s bringing his ‘Faith’ tribute act to Tunbridge Wells’ Colebrook Park over the tribute music extravaganza this summer, where he’ll wow the crowd with an authentic high-energy showcase of the iconic Wham! star’s greatest hits. Getting the celebrated performer’s look, voice and moves spot on with every set, Mack puts on a terrifically entertaining show that’s not to be missed.
But before donning the famous sunglasses for the first time last year, the crooner had enjoyed plenty of personal success in his career to date. Releasing his debut album, My Time, in 2016, Mack reached number three in the iTunes jazz charts, in addition to selling over 12,000 copies of single Down to the River. Plus, when he’s not busy making music, he can be seen in pantomime performances like Snow White in Romford.
Before that, he appeared on ITV’s Friday Night Fever back in 1999, and has gone from strength to strength ever since. He gives his all and puts his heart and soul into everything he does, covering music from the 1950s right up to current chart hits, on top of his various tribute nights.
He’s gained a whole host of celebrity fans, including Tom Jones and Peter Andre
Having worked the club circuit around the UK over the last 10 years, the showman has played all kinds of events, from corporate functions to holiday parks, perfecting his act to suit all ages with every song he plays. He’s gained a whole host of celebrity fans in the process too, including Tom Jones and Peter Andre, who have been bowled over by his unforgettable vocals and effortless charisma.
Accompanied by a live four-piece function band, Mack’s is a musical experience that truly captures the glam of Wham! – not to mention that of Michael himself, complete with shades, beard and the outfit to match. Over the course of a two-act 80-minute set, he takes his audiences through decades of classic tunes, from Careless Whisper to Jesus to a Child and everything in between.
One thing’s for sure – if you’re a fan of George Michael’s music, this tribute act is one to watch and have complete and utter faith in.
